GPS training offered
FARMINGTON -- GPS Training will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 8 a.m. to noon at the USDA Service Center on Park Street.
This class will teach participants to expand their GPS skills and avoid expensive, time consuming and risky mistakes. Students will get some hands-on field instruction outside.
Among the information participants will learn are the time it takes a unit to correct to the actual location when first turned on, what a way-point is, what longitude and latitude are, and much more.
The GPS units that will be used are Garmins. The session is limited to 25 on a pre-paid, first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is required. Also, indicate if you own a hand-held GPS unit, have a GPS in your vehicle and/or need handicapped accessibility.
