Twelve teams from around the state participated in the final weekend of soccer before the Maine Principal’s Association mandatory two week hands off period.

Friday the MTA girls hosted teams in a preliminary round robin style format that led to seedings being developed for Saturday morning. Mt. Blue was the eventual winning team after two days winning the championship game against Medomak Valley following double overtime and penalty kicks.

Saturday afternoon, the boys started their tournament, again having a round robin format to develop seedings for Sunday. At the end of the day, the Mt. Blue Boys were also victorious defeating Maranacook 2-1.

“Fabulous weather plus 24 soccer teams plus great help from parents and coaches equaled a great 7V7 soccer tournament for 2010. Thanks to all who helped out! We could not do this without you,” event organizer, Coach Marc Keller, commented.
