New England Celtic Arts together with The Maine Highland Games and the American Folk Festival join forces to present “A Taste of Celtic Colours” at several locations in Maine including Lakeside Theater in Rangeley.

For nine days in October, Cape Breton Island is home to a unique celebration of music and culture as the Celtic Colours International Festival presents dozens of concerts all over the island, an extensive line-up of workshops, a visual art series of exhibitions, and a nightly Festival Club.

This first ever tour is made up of five of Cape Breton’s finest young musicians regularly featured at the festival.

Leading the group is Colin Grant along with Darren McMullen, Rachel Davis, Chrissy Crowley, and Jason Roach. The five member team lead by Colin represent the cream of the younger generation of Cape Breton performers and will be involved in numerous workshops and concerts at the Maine Highland Games Aug. 20 and 21 at the Topsham Fairgrounds and at the American Folk Festival Aug. 27, 28 and 29 on the Bangor waterfront.

Sandwiched in between the two festivals, tour organizer New England Celtic Arts will host the group at Skye Theatre in South Carthage Sunday, Aug. 22, at St. Kieran’s Arts Center in Berlin, N.H. Monday, Aug. 23, at Lakeside Theatre in Rangeley, Tuesday, Aug. 24, again at Skye Theatre Wednesday, Aug. 25, and at Unity Center for the Performing Arts in Unity Thursday Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Lakeside Theater is on Main Street in Rangeley. Skye Theater is located 3 miles West of East Dixfield Village at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2 in South Carthage. UCCPA is at 42 Depot Street in Unity.

The ticket price is $10 at the door for all but Lakeside, which $12.5 in advance and $15 at the door.
