PHILLIPS — Ducks for the Phillips Public Library’s Annual Duck Derby are on sale now. Choose 1 for $3, 2 for $5, or 5 for $10. You may also buy one for your toddler to keep for $1; it won’t be entered in the Derby.
Race time is 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22. Each Derby Duck will be released into the Sandy River just above the bridge downtown and scooped up just below. The bridge provides the best view for spectators.
There are lots of great prizes for the first several ducks to make it to the finish line. First and second place quackers earn cash prizes of $200 and $100 respectively. Other prizes include a plane ride over Phillips and various gift certificates.
