(Photo courtesy Adrienne Rollo) PHILLIPS — Unlike the rainy day Mother Nature bestowed upon Toothaker Pond Association’s picnic last year, the sun was shining Saturday, Aug. 21 as the TPA hosted its “Picnic in the Park” event as part of the Phillips Old Home Days festivities.

This is the second year that the TPA has hosted the event and each year has been a huge success, according to organizers.

The picnic is free and everyone is welcome. Hamburgers and hot dogs were grilled by TPA Board members Clyde Pendleton and John Rollo while homemade salads and desserts were donated by TPA members. A spokesperson for the event said that a great time was had by all as they served approximately 125 people.

The TPA plans to hold the event again next year on Old Home Days weekend in the park by the bridge in Phillips.
