Vicilynn Anderson
NEW PORTLAND — Vicilynn Anderson, 57, of New Portland, died Thursday morning, Aug. 26, 2010 in her home with her husband and daughters by her side.
She was born on March 30, 1953, in Danbury, Conn., the daughter of John Christian Kern, Jr. and Jeanne Marie (Watson) Kern Northrup. She graduated from Brookfield High School in Conn.
On July 1, 1972 she married John Edward Anderson. They moved to Maine the following year, where she ran the New Portland Community Post Office for over 20 years. Together, she and her husband raised three daughters and owned and operated their family wreath business, Fir Spirits.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and caregiver for her family and was always actively involved in and supportive of her family’s endeavors. She enjoyed music, gardening, sewing and the company of friends and family, especially being “Nan” to her grandchildren. She was a beautiful, wonderful person, and she will be missed dearly by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
Vicilynn is survived by her husband, John Anderson, of New Portland; her three daughters, Ami Esquivel and her husband, Jose, of Kennebunk, Melanie Neve and her husband, Anthony, of Nashua, N.H. and Alyssa West and her husband, Daniel, of Gorham; grandchildren, Mackenzie Esquivel, Myra Esquivel, Kendall Neve and Jeremy West; a brother, John “Skip” Kern III and his wife, Debbie, of Conn.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Public memorial services were held Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at her home, with Rev. Scott Planting officiating.
