Blood drive slated
FARMINGTON — The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 1 and 2, from 12 to 5 p.m., at the University of Maine at Farmington, 246 Main Street.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. This blood drive is subject to change without notice, call to confirm site and hours.
Donors may safely give blood through the Red Cross every eight weeks. Eligible donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in good health. There is no upper age limit and most medications are now acceptable.
Bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.
The American Red Cross Donor Center, located at 524 Forest Avenue in Portland, is open for donations Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
