Paul Stookey to play at POPS



America’s most beloved folk singer and songwriter, Noel Paul Stookey, of Peter, Paul and Mary will headline the Kingfield POPS concert Saturday, June 30. The string of hits that Peter, Paul and Mary (Stookey was “Paul”) generated included “The Wedding Song,” “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “In These Times,” and dozens more. Stookey will perform a solo set at the concert, as well as a set with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra conducted by Grammy winner Lucas Richman. Other performers include: Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection, Nadia and Jocko, the Maranacook String Band, and the Western Mountain Trash Can Band. The National Anthem will be sung by MSAD #58 student Kacie Ackley. Tickets ($20 adult; kids free) are now on sale at www.kingfieldpops.com, at Tranten’s family Market in Kingfield and at branches of the Camden National Bank in Kingfield, Farmington, Stratton, Phillips and Rangeley.
