(Jeffrey Butland photo) STRATTON — Around 90 people gathered Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Alumni Association of the Dead River Area’s annual gathering at the Stratton-Eustis Community Building.

The business meeting was held electing Mike Hewett of Coplin as president, Helen Targett of Stratton as vice president, Anna Smart of Cornish as secretary and Mary Henderson as treasurer.

A highlight of the reunion was Jay Wyman’s slide show which showed scenes of Flagstaff and Dead River.

“After all these years, it’s still a pretty good turnout, and everyone has a great time visiting,” said Hewett.

The association awarded scholarships to Rosie Lowell and Breanna Knox.

From the class of 1947, Sybil Caldwell Stevens and Mary Currie Stevens from Stratton, and Vernon Bean from Flagstaff were honored.
