Colon S. Heath

1948-2016 — He was very close with his family

CHESTERVILLE — Colon Scott Heath, 68, died May 11, 2016 at his home in Chesterville, with his loving wife of 49 years by his side.

He was born in Farmington May 6, 1948, the son of Colon E. and Martha (Nile) Heath. Colon attended school in New Vineyard and graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1966. A year after high school, Colon married Ida at the New Vineyard Church in 1967. The following year he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving his country for 18 months and receiving an honorable discharge. Colon worked for G.H. Bass as a cutter for 20 years. He then worked on the supercalender for Boise and New Page paper mills, from where he retired after 26 years.

He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and the Elks Club in Farmington. Colon enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Ida loved going up to camp in Moosehead. They would ride the dirt roads and would hope not to get lost. He would bird hunt and fish there, most of all enjoying quiet time together. Colon also liked watching old western movies at the house. He was very close with his family and looked forward to spending time with everyone.

He is survived by wife, Ida of Chesterville; son, Richard S. Heath and wife, Julie, of New Vineyard; daughter, Rachel J. Ouellette and husband, Michael, of Standish; grandsons, Richard S.D. Heath and fiancée, Gabby, of Madison, Dylan Pitcher of New Vineyard, Eric B. Heath of New Vineyard; 2.5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd, Peter and wife, Angela, Everett and wife, Baza, Chris; sister, Rebecca Medcoff and husband, Gordon; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by; his parents; and his grandson, Devon Michael Heath three years ago.

There will be no services at this time.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service in Farmington.
