KINGFIELD — At its April 13 meeting, MSAD #58 School Board of Directors recognized Kingfield library technician and bus driver Debra Johnson as the district Employee of the Month for March. “She is a long time employee who has taken on a variety tasks around the district over the years. Her dedication to the students over the years continues to define who she is,” stated Director Peter Manning.

Directors set the District Budget meeting for May 30 at Mt. Abram High School at 6:30 p.m. The proposed $9.4 million budget reflects a 1.93 percent increase over last year.

Local share of the proposed budget would be as follows: Avon — $441,271; Kingfield — $1,461,000; Phillips — $893,313; and Strong — $918,571. On average, towns will pay approximately 5 percent more than last year.

The Budget Validation Referendum is set for June 6.
