The eighth graders were participating in a district-wide boys verses girls scrimmage game last Saturday. The girls' team has been working with MTA head coach Doug Lisherness during the off-season. The boys are the older group from the new MTA Development Program. In this game, some say the girls may have let the boys win by the score of 45-37. A strategically well-played game was hard fought by both teams. Smith was the team high scorer with 12 points followed by Annie Dexter of Strong with nine. James led the boys' team with 12 points followed by Ethan Boyd of Strong with 10. Both squads hope to match-up again sometime after vacation. (David Hart photo)
