A mountain of food rounded up

On Nov. 23 and 24, Sugarloaf/USA and the Sugarloaf Christian Ministry joined forces to host the 17th Annual Tin Mountain Roundup. All of those who brought three cans of food to the mountain on the two days had the opportunity to ski or ride for only $20. The event was held to help those in need as the holiday season approaches. The 2,000 cans of food collected during the weekend bolstered the food supplies at the Stratton-Eustis Food Pantry, the Salem Economic Ministry and the Phillips Food Pantry. In addition, $150 was also donated by skiers and riders to help those less fortunate. Shown here are (left to right) Florence and John Caldwell of the Stratton-Eustis Food Pantry and Tom “Hawk” O’Leary of Sugarloaf holding several cans of food that were donated.
