Bluesfest comes to Sugarloaf




CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The 5th Annual Sugarloaf Blues Festival, presented by the Budweiser Concert Series, will be held on Dec. 6 and 7 at Sugarloaf/USA. According to organizers, this annual event has become a “can’t miss” tradition for Blues fans.The weekend boasts six different bands and performers with concerts starting on Friday, Dec. 6. Friday night performers include Maurice John Vaughn and Big Jack Johnson. Saturday afternoon offers a free après-ski show from 4 to 6 p.m. featuring Pat Pepin. Saturday night brings on an ensemble of talent as blues fans are treated to four bands: Greg Piccolo, Kinsey Report, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets featuring Sam Myers and Big Jack Johnson.Tickets are $5 for Friday night’s show and $20 for Saturday night’s show.Guests must be 21 or older with an ID to enter the shows.During the days, Sugarloaf will host its annual Demo Days where equipment manufacturers bring all of the latest skiing and boarding equipment for on-hill testing.Additionally, the 21st annual Christmas Show & Sale will be held at the Sugarloaf Inn on Saturday and Sunday.
