KINGFIELD — Blues in the Barn summer series continues with Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones featuring Dennis Gruenling on the harp Sunday, Aug. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mountain Village Farm B&B, 164 Main Street.

Eastside Detroit native Doug Deming, now hailing from Florida’s Gulf Coast, has garnered widespread attention for his deft guitar work and memorable songwriting. Paired with acclaimed harp man and touring partner Dennis Gruenling, and backed by the Jewel Tones lineup of Andrew Gohman on upright and Fender bass and Devin Neel on drums, the band creates upbeat, dance-inducing music.

Most people, upon hearing music by Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones, recognize them as a band that returns to the roots of blues as opposed to a continuation of modern adaptations of the style.

Tickets are $12 in advance by Aug. 24 or $15 at the gate. There is a beer garden and Rolling Fatties food truck on site. Call 265-2030 for information or tickets.
