NASHVILLE, Tenn. — It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Stephanie L Searles Card Jan. 16, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. due to complications of COVID-19.

Stephanie was born Dec. 14, 1964 to Rodney L. and Andrea Shusta Searles in Farmington. She attended Kingfield Elementary School and Mt. Abram High School; she went on to earn her GED in the late 1980s.

She married Robert A. Card in 1985 and they divorced in 1990. Stephanie then moved to Tennessee to work at various jobs such as a seamstress stitching U.S. Postal uniforms, as a waitress at Cracker Barrel where she met country music stars such as George Jones, and then as a receptionist until she retired due to failing health.

Besides her parents, Stephanie is survived by her life partner of over 30 years, William “Bill” Cobb; and sons, Jesse R. Card and William Tyler Cobb all of Nolensville, Tenn. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Harley; brother, Donald Searles of Augusta; and sister, Denise Searles of Salem Township.

There will be a graveside service in late spring or early summer of 2021, date uncertain at this time.

    I was thinking about Stephanie today, so I googled her to see if I could get a hold of her, and was was shocked and heartbroken at the same time. I wish I would have stayed in touch with her. Such a beautiful person.
